Daniel Radcliffe stars in a compelling true tale of obsession and murder that kick-started the Beat Generation. It's 1944 and fresh-faced young student Allen Ginsberg (Daniel Radcliffe) has just arrived at Columbia University. He swiftly falls under the spell of handsome, charismatic Lucien Carr (Dane DeHaan), who sees himself as the architect of an artistic 'New Vision'. Carr introduces Ginsberg to Jack Kerouac (Jack Huston) and William Burroughs (Ben Foster), bringing together the founding fathers of what was to become known as the Beat Movement. But Ginsberg's love for Carr proves to be destructive. Their relationship is further complicated by David Kammerer (Michael C. Hall) - an older man who has become obsessed with free-spirited Carr. And thanks to the film's prologue, we already know that his corpse winds up floating in the Hudson river! Daniel Radcliffe broadens his range still further in John Krokidas's atmospheric feature debut exploring the dramatic birth of the Beats.
